Spectral Army
The legend goes that back in 1735 a spectral army was seen marching over Souther Fell, it was seen again some years later by a number of other people.

Although the legend says they were marching I thought a charge more appropriate 😉

The Lake
Strasbourg’s Cathedral is supposed to have been erected on the original celtic sacred site. Because of the groundwater the foundations sit on oak and alder beams. It is said that there is in fact a lake underneath the Cathedral. A mysterious boat drifts on the dark water. The entrance of the lake is in the basement of a house facing the Cathedral. The door to the cave has been walled. CaroB
The Last King of Cumbria
Anyone that has driven through the Lake District has likely seen the mound of stones at Dunmail Raise, legend goes that it’s the burial place for the last king of Cumbria who was killed in battle there. His crown was taken and thrown in a nearby tarn and each year the spirits of his warriors retrieve the crown and take it back to him to see if he is ready to return and he declines saying the time has not yet come. Some of the legend associated with the last king of Cumbria is thought to be where parts of the King Arthur legend came from.

The Luck of Edenhall
Just down the road is is the village of Edenhall, there used to be a large country house there and the Luck of Edenhall is associated with that house. The legend goes…
‘a party of Fairies were drinking and making merry round a well near the Hall, called St Cuthbert’s well; but being interrupted by the intrusion of some curious people, they were frightened, and made a hasty retreat, and left the cup in question: one of the last screaming out,

If this cup should break or fall
Farewell the Luck of Edenhall.’

The Transformation
The stone circle of Long Meg and her Daughters has a number of myths associated with it, one is that Meg was a witch who along with her daughters profaned the sabbath by dancing and were turned to stone, another myth has the transformation being carried out by a spell from the wizard Michael Scott.

Col? citadel – Col? citadel was build in the XIV century at the footsteps of Retezat mountains. Jules Verne visit it long ago and it became the inspiration for his story „The castle in the Carpatians”. Sergiu
